My name is Yulia Kan,
I’m an immigration specialist living in Toronto, Canada.
If you ask me how I found my way into this profession, I will tell you that it’s not a profession, it is my essence.
I was born and raised in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a small city in Russia's far east. Fun fact: it was once called Toyohara during the Japanese occupation in the 1900s.
In 2005, I moved to South Korea and lived there on a student visa for 5 years. During that time, I obtained permanent residence through a special immigration stream for displaced Koreans in Russia and made the move to Vancouver after securing admission to the University of British Columbia.
In Vancouver I also lived on a student visa for 5 years. In 2015 I graduated from UBC and applied for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Toward the end of the year, I secured a retail job that would qualify me for permanent residence after completing 1 year of full time work.
In 2018, I landed a permanent resident of Canada and in 2021, I fulfilled a lifelong dream by achieving Canadian citizenship.
However!
My immigration journey in Canada was not as easy and smooth as it may seem.
The study permit, work permit, and permanent residence applications were all refused from the first try.
The first application was redeemed through the help of an agency in Russia, the second was saved by a licensed Canadian immigration practitioner and the third was thoroughly reviewed by my boss at my first immigration consulting firm, which ultimately launched my professional career.
Since then, I have worked in reputable immigration firms, gaining extensive experience in securing my clients their immigration status through existing Canadian immigration programs.
The combination of my personal and professional experiences enables me to guide my clients through their immigration journey with ease, comfort and confidence.
Navigating the immigration process is about building futures, uniting families, and pursuing dreams. This is why I do what I do.
Don’t be like me and go through the heartbreak of an application refusal. Get in touch and let’s work together toward an approval-worthy application!
